VIDEO: British Fans Soccer Allegedly Taunt and Throw Change at Refugee Children

This is footage of English and Welsh soccer fans gathering in Lille before this week’s Euro 2016 match. It allegedly shows the assembled crowd mocking a quarter of boys described as “little Muslim refugee children.”
The fans throw change at the children and laugh as they scramble to collect it. At one point a man in a Wayne Rooney jersey approaches the group and throws a fake jab. An alternate angle can be found here.
The sing-song appears to be about the soccer team and not about the kids. There’s also no verification that the children are Muslims or refugees.
Every fiber of my being wants to believe there’s a reasonable explanation for this behavior and the incident was misconstrued by the person who uploaded it online.
If not, and the worst is true, then goddamn if it isn’t sickening.
