Brandon Ingram is going to have a chance to succeed Kobe Bryant as the next legend for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers took Ingram with the second pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, adding to a young core that could make noise in the Western Conference at some point in the next few years.

Ingram is still 18 years old and was one of the best players in college basketball during the 2015-16 season. At 6-foot-9 and an incredibly skinny 195 pounds, Ingram must add strength to his frame, but his upside is tremendous.

The Duke product has a ridiculous 7-foot-3 wingspan which helps make him an excellent defender. Ingram is a smooth shooter, a great ball-handler and has enough athleticism that he’ll be able to get to the rim consistently once he adds strength.

Ingram gets extremely high marks for his basketball IQ and character as well.

He’s also a full year younger than No. 1 pick Ben Simmons and the youngest college player in this draft.

Ingram fills two huge needs for the Lakers: perimeter scoring/shooting and perimeter defense. It may be the best team/player fit in this draft.
