Ben Simmons is headed to Philly. The Philadelphia 76ers took the 19-year-old forward out of LSU with the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. They are hoping he can turn around the fortunes of their moribund franchise.

Simmons has been almost universally expected to be the top pick in this draft. The uber-versatile 6-foot-10, 240-pounder can score, defend, rebound and even handle the ball.

As a freshman at LSU, Simmons averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists in 2.0 steals in 34.9 minutes per game.

The 76ers have tanked like crazy the last few years and will add Simmons to a young core that desperately needs a leader.

The last time the 76ers had the top pick in the draft they selected Allen Iverson who went on to have a Hall of Fame career.
