Bad refereeing tends ot even out. Chile’s Marcelo Diaz was sent off for a soft second yellow. Argentina’s Marcos Rojo will join him to make it 10 on 10 after a tackle on Arturo Vidal.

That was a probably a foul, despite him winning the ball, though hardly worth a straight red. Vidal got his foot caught under him.

We’ll say it again. Referees should have to talk to the media after the match. The fourth official should also have a video monitor.

UPDATEThe red cards seem to be a pattern with this referee.
