The Los Angeles Lakers have signed another veteran to a fairly large deal. Luol Deng and the Lakers agreed to a 4-year, $72 million deal on Saturday. Deng, 31, averaged 13.1 points and 5.6 rebounds in his last two seasons with the Miami Heat. Deng, a 2-time All-Star during his 9 and a half seasons with the Chicago Bulls, gives the Lakers a legitimate veteran who might actually have a couple years of NBA-level basketball in him.

With Deng and Mozgov, the Lakers have signed two actual professional basketball players that will make the team less horrible, without adding actual expectations or results that will keep them out of the lottery. Deng seems like the kind of player that might actually teach the Lakers young players instead of whatever Kobe Bryant did last year.
