Dwyane Wade will be leaving the Miami Heat, but not to team up with buddy LeBron James in Cleveland. He will join his hometown Chicago Bulls. Wade has agreed to a two-year $47.5 million deal.

It’s an interesting and unexpected move. Apparently, he was not bluffing. Pairing Wade, who turns 35 in January, with Jimmy Butler, Robin Lopez, and Rajon Rondo gives the Bulls a team that…won’t give the Cavs a serious challenge in the East. So much for the Bulls’ promise to get “younger and more athletic.”

Unless a Russell Westbrook move is in the offing, Pat Riley and the Miami Heat have entered the “Hassan Whiteside era.”
