Phil Mickelson has reached double-digit numbers and has a five-stroke lead over his nearest competitor. Thanks to a blistering first-round 63 that was almost a 62 and three birdies in his first eight holes in his second round, the five-time major champion is sitting pretty as conditions continue to deteriorate at the 145th Open Championship.

On the par-3 eighth Postage Stamp hole, Lefty almost made the second ace of the tournament.

After the round Phil had this to say of his near ace:

"“See that little delayed juice? I like that. It almost went in, if it had a little bit more sauce.”"
