Paul Pogba is headed back to Manchester United and the price for his return is absolutely staggering. According to The Daily Mirror, the Red Devils have reportedly agreed to pay Juventus €120 million (or $132.13 million) for Pogba’s rights. The transfer price would break the world record set when Real Madrid paid Tottenham €100 million for Gareth Bale in 2013.

The 23-year-old Pogba is seen by many as the world’s next great soccer superstar, so it makes sense that Man U would want to get him back. He spent four years with club, from 2009 to 2012. Pogba bolted for Juventus in July of 2012, and spent the next four years developing into one of the world’s most dynamic playmakers. The French central midfielder would certainly give United some much-needed offensive punch.

Pogba joins other recent signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic as new manager Jose Mourinho works to change the culture and makeup of a club that finished last season in a disappointing fifth place.

As with all soccer transfers, the exact price may change during final negotiations, but it appears this is a deal that will get done and it will certainly break the record. We’ll update you if the final price changes.

UPDATE: Some reports are now claiming the deal has not been finalized, but it appears close to happening and the two sides are still talking.
