Why Does Twitter Hate Russell Wilson?

For reasons that continue to make no sense, social media loves to take shots at NFL stars JJ Watt and Russell Wilson. The narrative – Watt and Wilson are trying too hard to be cool. They’re inauthentic. They’re just trying to bolster their brand.
We’ve covered Watt in this space before. Forget that he delivered pizza while in college and 5-6 years later he’s worked his way into one of the NFL’s best pass rushers in league history … Watt has his own personalized logo and flirts with Kelly Kapowski on twitter and that’s not cool!
Wilson? The uncool crowd on twitter – you know them; the ones trying really hard to be cool – are piling on Wilson for his hair, not having sex, marrying Ciara, etc – and I just felt like it was time to defend Russell Wilson, so I did it on Speak for Yourself.
