WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne Comes Out In Vogue Article

Elena Delle Donne is probably the most recognizable women’s basketball player on the planet right now. The reigning WNBA MVP and Team USA star just became a symbol for something even bigger.

In the August issue of Vogue, Delle Donne came out, announcing that Amanda Clifton is her fiancee. Here’s the quote from the article:

"…Elena divides her time between traveling with her team, the Chicago Sky, and her family’s home in the rolling green landscape of Wilmington, Delaware. She and her fiancee, Amanda Clifton, keep apartments in both Chicago and Wilmington."

The Vogue article is a two-page profile and points out that Delle Donne and Clifton run basketball clinics together and that Clifton will join her in Rio.

Clifton and Delle Donne have shown up repeatedly on each other’s Instagram accounts so this probably won’t come as a shock to many. But Delle Donne coming out just before she takes the world stage at the 2016 Summer Olympics is a powerful statement.
