Reggie Bush signed an incentive-laden 1-year deal with the Buffalo Bills this week. Bush will fill the (expanding) hole left by suspended 2nd-year back Karlos Williams and will compete with Mike Gillislee (53 career carries) and rookie Jonathan Williams to back-up LeSean McCoy. Rex Ryan, to no one’s surprise, thinks Rex Ryan made a very savvy move to sign Bush. Via NFL.com:

"“First off, with Reggie Bush, he’s such a talent but we want him to be almost like that Ferrari that we unleash and let people be like“Oh man, he’s out there!” But I also don’t want to run him into the ground,” Ryan said."

He must mean sparingly and under the most ideal conditions only. Also, he’ll mostly be in the garage or parked far away from anything that might ding him.

At 31-years old, Bush is coming of a meniscus tear and has spent the last two years dealing with various injuries. He did have three straight solid seasons in his late-20’s, but in his 5 games last season, he carried the ball just 8 times for the 5-11 San Francisco 49ers. He was only targeted in the passing game 10 times.
