John Oliver did a segment on print journalism for “Last Week Tonight.” As usual, it was spot on. It highlights the important work being done at local city papers, the dependence of the rest of the media on that local city paper work, and the terrifying political implications of that work happening less and less.
This will remind you that you haven’t encountered your local print paper in more than a decade and have only faint secondhand glimmerings of what’s going on in local government.
