Pau Gasol was at the free thrown line with his Spanish team leading host Brazil 65-64 and just 23.7 seconds remaining in a crucial group stage game. The Olympics are many things, but most of all they are a chance for the host nation to show its hospitality to the world. That’s exactly what happened as Gasol was at the line, as a Brazilian fan welcomed the six-time All-Star to his country with a “double-bird.”

We’re sure this nameless Brazilian was just trying to convey his hopes that Gasol was enjoying the experience of the 2016 Olympics, along with his country’s lovely beaches and nightlife.

Oh, Gasol missed both free throws and Brazil wound up scoring with a tip-in late to secure an enormous upset win over heavily-favored Spain.
