Alex Rodriguez finished his Yankees career in the Bronx on Friday night. Rodriguez started at designated hitter, but with a 6-3 lead in the 9th inning, A-Rod briefly played third base. (Video below) He was then taken out of the game and given a  standing ovation. This only happened because the Yankees had a 3-run lead. That’s the only reason that Joe Girardi would ever entertain a silly retirement-tour-like activity after he specifically told Rodriguez earlier this week that he wouldn’t play 3rd.

In his final A-Rod-ian act, he also took this picture. All in all, it was a proper end to his time in New York.
