Baltimore’s Jonathan Schoop hit a clutch two-out, three-run home run against San Francisco on Sunday. The longball is one of the biggest hits of the O’s season and could prove to be crucial as they fight for a playoff spot. Manny Machado was understandably fired up after the dinger and perhaps took the celebration too far.
Machado lowered his shoulder into Schoop’s chest and sent the large second baseman toppling to the ground. It looked like a vengeful free safety laying the wood to a defenseless receiver over the middle. If the young star ever wants to quit on a potential Hall of Fame baseball career, he may have a future in getting bloggers to suggest he may have a career in football based on a ridiculously small sample size.
You know, the reverse Tim Tebow.
