Hedvig Lindahl Makes Incredible Penalty Save To Help Swedish Women Beat Brazil On PKs

Hedvig Lindahl just made the save of her life. Sweden’s keeper stood tall in penalty kicks to rebuff the Brazilian women’s soccer team’s quest for a gold medal at the 2016 Olympics.

After the two countries deadlocked at 0-0 after 120 minutes, the match went to penalty kicks. Both Lindahl and Brazilian keeper Barbara made saves in the second round of kicks, and with the score tied at 3-3 in the fifth round, Brazil sent Andressinha to the spot.

Despite a great strike, Lindahl turned it the 21-year-old away. Check out this save:

That was incredible.

Lisa Dahlkvist then stepped to the spot and converted, giving Sweden a berth in the gold medal match with a 4-3 win on penalties.
