Michelle Jenneke became an Internet sensation in 2012 when video of her pre-race dancing routine at the Junior World Championships went viral. The Australian 100-meter hurdler qualified for the 2016 Olympics and had her first heat on Tuesday and…it didn’t go well.
Jenneke was in the second heat and finished sixth, with a time of 13.26 seconds, well below her personal best of 12.82. She finished 37th and failed to reach the semifinals.
Here’s video of her race:
Well that’s a bummer.
Jenneke has always seemed like a nice girl who has a great sense of humor and attitude about her popularity. The 23-year-old will likely have another chance at the Olympics in the future, until then we’ll just have to follow her on Instagram.
