Eagles Kicker Caleb Sturgis Suffers Concussion After Being Hit by Stray Punt
By Kyle Koster
Philadelphia Eagles kicker Caleb Sturgis warmed up without a helmet for Thursday night’s preseason game against the Steelers. It proved to be a costly decision.
An errant punt hit him in the head, resulting in a late scratch due to concussion.
Kickers are people too and concussions are serious so surely no snark will be aimed in Sturgis’ direction.
Missing a preseason game may not seem like a big deal, but Sturgis and Cody Parker are battling for the starting job. The wayward punt and freak injury could end up tipping the scales in Parker’s favor.
Hardly seems fair.
