Baylor wide receiver Ishmael Zamora can be seen in the video below viciously beating his dog with a belt, kicking it, and cursing at it. The video was originally shared on the Snapchat of another Baylor football player, and then brought to the attention of Animal Control and the Baylor police by former Baylor student Shelby Ball.

Per Waco’s ABC affiliate KXXV, which shared the video below, Zamora was charged with a Class C misdemeanor and issued a citation of up to $500. “I lost my temper trying to discipline him,” Zamora said in a statement to the station. “I’ve been through training with a dog trainer to help me learn new potty training tips.”

While this is a short video, as a dog owner viewing it this explanation is not reasonable or adequate, and it is yet another example of the shortcomings in human decency attributable to the Baylor football program in recent memory. Now that this is out there in public, Baylor’s head coach Jim Grobe says Zamora will receive an as-yet-unspecified discipline; per KXXV, the athletic department was aware of this incident before.
