VIDEO: Major Leaguers Were All About Jumping Over Walls Last Night
By Kyle Koster
Boston Red Sox rookie Andrew Benintendi flung himself over the short left-field fence at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay to take a home run away from Steve Souza Jr. He called it the best catch he’s ever made. That’s easy to believe.
Later in the night, Seattle Mariners outfielder Shawn O'Malley made a similar play by ranging to his right and leaping to snag an Austin Romine foul fly before it landed in the stands.
Just a couple of dudes risking bodily harm to help their teams win. Good thing Major Leaguers have top-of-the-line health benefits.
