Andrew Luck's Flip Phone: Lame or a PR Victory for Millennials?

Andrew Luck is the highest-paid player in the NFL. His status has not affected his devotion to the flip phone. The Indianapolis Colts quarterback shared a picture of his new cell on Facebook Thursday afternoon and it is entirely unremarkable.

The phone retails for $60, according to Fox Sports, but it appears AT&T just gave it to Luck for free. The sweet perks of being a quarterback are plentiful.

Not that my opinion should matter to Luck, but I’m torn on this. On one hand, being a giant weirdo only makes it harder on an athlete. This goofy stuff is all well and good as long as the on-field performance is there. If it drops off, then it’s just another quiver for the army of hating archers.

On the other, I like that he’s out there trying to singlehandedly dispel all existing Millennial stereotypes. Between his distaste for screwing around on his phone and his love of reading, he’s out there making a difference.
