Swanson hit his first career MLB home run last night against the Nationals in Washington, thanks largely to center fielder Trea Turner, who took an interesting route to the baseball.

The health benefits of a 360-foot sprint over a leisurely jog are self-evident. In addition to getting his heart rate up, Swanson smartly ensured there’d be no problem obtaining the souvenir baseball by keeping it in the yard.

Veteran move. The kid has a bright future.
