Cam Newton: "I Feel Sh*tty ... It's Not Fun Getting Hit in the Head"

Cam Newton took longer than usual to meet the media Thursday night after the Panthers lost their season opener to Denver, and it’s because he was in concussion protocol.

Newton took at least three illegal shots to the head against the Broncos, and only on the final drive was one of them flagged. You could argue he shouldn’t have played on the final drive – the MVP got them in position to win the game, except their kicker missed the game-winner, wide – but can you imagine the outcry if he’d gone to the sideline and the backup went in and couldn’t get them in field goal range and lost?
