Dustin Johnson Wins the BMW Championship for Third Win of the Season
By Michael Shamburger

Dustin Johnson won the BMW Championship with a tournament record 23-under at Crooked Stick and collected his third win of the season.
Johnson, who won his first major earlier this year at the U.S. Open and followed that up with a second win at the WGC-Bridgestone, has a total of 14 top-10 finishes this season.
DJ finished second in strokes gained putting this week, which is something most wouldn’t expect from the long-bomber considering he never seemed to be able to get the flat stick going before this season, but after a putter change, things seem to be clicking for him. DJ also led the field in strokes gained off-the-tee and strokes gained total.
Johnson joins Tiger Woods (2009) and Jordan Spieth (2015) as the only player in the last 10 years to have three wins and 14 top-10s in a season. Those stats seem like enough to make him a lock for Player of the Year. He also jumps to first in the FedExCup points standings.

Of note, Rickie Fowler will not be advancing to the TOUR Championship at East Lake.
