P.J. Williams, the Saints’ third round pick in the 2015 Draft, was carted off, tied in to a stabilizing board, after being twice kneed in the head — by Larry Donnell and then friendly fire from teammate Craig Robertson — during the first half of today’s game against the Giants.

Players on both teams took a knee to pray for the cornerback as he was leaving the field.

Williams did not raise a hand or a thumbs up on the way off the field. The Saints have announced that he is being evaluated for a concussion.

It is our sincere hope that this is not as bad as it initially looks.

UPDATE: Laura Okmin reported on the Fox telecast that Williams lost consciousness briefly, but has regained it. She said that Williams is able to move his fingers and toes, and has been diagnosed with a concussion.
