The Los Angeles Angels’ postseason dreams disappeared long ago and now they can only play the role of spoiler. But that doesn’t mean they’re not fighting hard for every run. Check out what Mike Trout did yesterday in a win over the Toronto Blue Jays. The All-Everything center fielder pulled the ol’ misdirection move on catcher Dioner Navarro, pulling his arm away from the tag and then slapping the plate.
It was really quite nifty.
The above angle shows just how difficult this maneuver was due to Albert Pujols’ discarded bat gumming up the works.
