A Michigan fan called into Paul Finebaum’s show. He didn’t bring his A-game. He accused Finebaum of an anti-Big Ten bias. Finebaum had acknowledged the Big Ten has been the best conference this year. The caller also claimed Nick Saban inherited a winning program at Alabama, which was untrue.
Finebaum later referred to Michigan fans as “a whiny and sniveling bunch.”
Michigan has not played anyone. But, the media ranks the Wolverines No. 4, giving Michigan the benefit of the doubt over Clemson, Houston, Michigan State, Stanford, and Washington among others.
While we could quibble with characterizing an entire fanbase by one radio caller (especially one from Ohio), there really is nothing for a Michigan fan or a Big Ten fan to complain about right now. Your coach being a pantomime villain in other regions of the country is a good thing.
