Jacoby Brissett cruised along on Thursday night, as the Patriots decimated the Texans en route to a 3-0 record. However, this news emerged today via WEEI’s Mike Petraglia:

Jimmy Garoppolo was out last night with a shoulder injury, and his status is week-to-week at this point. Julian Edelman was the team’s second quarterback on the depth chart last night. It would seem as though, if this report is accurate, that the Patriots would need to find themselves a backup — at the very least — for next week’s game against Buffalo.
