Amazing Photograph Shows Rickie Fowler Had No One to Kiss After Ryder Cup

The United States won its first Ryder Cup since 2008, setting off a wild celebration. In addition to alcohol, there was kissing. So much kissing. Now, this is a good thing if you have someone to kiss. It gets a bit awkward, though, if one is flying solo — as Rickie Fowler discovered.

Fowler and teammate Patrick Reed’s moment adrift in a sea of lip-locking was captured by Getty photographer Sam Greenwood. It’s a heck of a picture thanks to Fowler’s expression. He looks like a guy laughing off a botched New Year’s Eve outing as the clock strikes midnight.

Of course, a trophy helps dull the awkwardness. Don’t feel too sorry for him.
