Josh Gordon made the decision to enter an in-patient rehab facility several days ago but now we may know the reason he decided to do so. On Sunday it was revealed the Cleveland Browns wideout may have “slipped up” and violated the NFL’s substance abuse policy for what seems like the 35th time.

Gordon has been suspended indefinitely pending a ruling by Roger Goodell.

This has gotten beyond sad. Gordon has had numerous problems with substance abuse and the law since his days at Baylor. He’s an incredibly talented receiver who could be a perennial All-Pro if he just stayed out of trouble and focused on football. He just can’t get his head right.

Sadly, it feels like this won’t get better until the 25-year-old faces actual, long-term consequences for his actions. Gordon and his buddy Johnny Manziel both may need to wind up in jail before they actually figure their lives out.

It’s really hard to see any way Gordon will ever play in the NFL again. He’s been given so many chances and has never been able to stay on the straight and narrow.
