Shawn Barber, a Canadian pole vaulter, finished 10th at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. According to the Toronto Star, Barber almost didn’t make it to Rio because he kissed a girl he met on Craigslist the night before the Canadian Olympic Trials. From the Toronto Star:

"He tested positive for a trace amount of cocaine, which the court determined came from kissing the woman who, unbeknownst to him, had taken cocaine just before meeting him in a hotel room for their pre-arranged hookup."

It wasn’t until two days before the Olympic pole vaulting competition began that the Canadian Centre of Ethics in Sport decided to let him compete after accepting that excuse. News of this precedent should make contesting all future drug test results around the world very interesting.
