Derrick Rose Took Condom After Group Sex with Ex-Girlfriend Because "that is what NBA players are told to do"

Indiana Pacers v Chicago Bulls - Game One

Derrick Rose is embroiled in an lurid lawsuit in which he is being accused of gang-raping his ex-girlfriend with two friends, and some extremely sordid details were made public in court today.

From the Associated Press:

With a lack of physical evidence, one of the strategies used by Jane Doe’s lawyers will focus on the absence of Rose’s condom.

After sex, Rose took his condom, put it back in the wrapper and took it with him “like he was never there,” attorney Waukeen McCoy said.

However, Rose’s lawyers countered by saying that is what NBA players are told to do.

NBA players are instructed to flush their condoms down the toilet or take them so women can’t use the sperm to impregnate themselves, Rose’s lawyer said.

Rose, who was traded to the Knicks this offseason, is expected to be in court later today. No criminal charges have been filed against the point guard.

For now, it’s a she said-they said – the woman did not report the rape to police for two years, and was not examined by the doctor after the August 2013 incident.
