Marcell Dareus has served his 4-game suspension and will return to the field this weekend when the Buffalo Bills visit the Los Angeles Rams. The story behind Dareus’ suspension was that he had missed a drug test. According to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News, there may have been multiple incidents.

No matter how many violations led to the suspension (his second drug program-related suspension in two seasons), Dareus said he was going to rehab after the Bills “urged, if not ordered” him to seek help. After announcing he was headed to rehab during the day, Dareus was seen out on the town that night.

In an interview with USA TODAY, Dareus revealed that instead of going to rehab, the team’s medical staff decided he should seek treatment for ADHD. So Dareus enlisted the help of a life coach, as well as Bruce Smith. Dareus spent four days with the Bills’ legend, talking, eating, working out and golfing.

GM Doug Whaley initially said there was “no timetable” for Dareus’ return. We now know it was exactly as long as his suspension lasted.
