The rally started with two out and the bases empty and was capped by a three-run triple by Troy Tulowitzki. Rangers center fielder Ian Desmond, a converted shortstop, appeared to have a chance at making a catch in right-center but opted not to lay out.
It’s possible the late-afternoon sun-shadow situation played a role. Or he believed the fence was much closer than it actually was.
