Draymond Green went off on anyone still ripping Kevin Durant for his decision to join the Golden State Warriors on Thursday. Green reserved his harshest criticism for Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul Pierce.
Green’s full comments follow:
Wow, Draymond just dropped a bomb. Paul Pierce was a rock for the Celtics for 15 seasons and only left when the team traded him to the Nets. It makes sense he would rip Durant’s decision to join the competition instead of attempting to beat it. That said, obviously Green is going to defend his new teammate, but calling out Pierce specifically probably isn’t wise. The Warriors and Durant had to expect this as soon as he signed. Everyone is going to have an opinion and few of them are going to be positive.
Durant and his Golden State teammates would be best served to just stop responding to anything other players say about the move. Just let it go. When asked about comments from outside the organization just give boring, diplomatic answers. That’s the only way this goes away or doesn’t become a constant distraction.
