Jake Arrieta Lost His No-Hit Bid Right After FOX Aired a No-Hitter Graphic

Jake Arrieta had gone five innings without giving up a hit against the Cleveland Indians in Game 2 of the World Series. FOX decided to put up a little graphic alerting viewers to that fact. Arrieta promptly gave up a hit to Jason Kipnis. Lots of people, predictably, shouted jinx. It should be noted that Arrieta had also thrown 80 or so pitches at that point so it was unlikely he could have gone the distance no matter what Kipnis did. Still, it’s fun to blame FOX.
