Joe Mixon Seems Like A Well-Adjusted Human Being

Joe Mixon was suspended for Oklahoma’s game against Iowa State this week because of an incident with a parking attendant. Initial reports claimed the running back had just torn up a parking ticket, but it appears things went well beyond that.

According to the documents, Mixon ripped a parking ticket and threw it at the attendant saying, "don't put that sh*t in my face." @kfor

Mixon then allegedly drove toward the attendant to intimidate them and proceeded to park again on the north oval, despite a warning. @kfor

Mixon was suspended from the Iowa State game. Some OU students think it was an acceptable punishment, some think more should be done. @kfor

Given that Mixon was already suspended an entire season for essentially caving a young woman’s face in with a punch, I think it’s fair to say he might need some counseling. Or possibly just a long “timeout.”
Bob Stoops and Oklahoma gave Mixon a second chance and I’m sure that had nothing to do with the fact that he is a phenomenal talent, but was purely because they believed in him as a person. The last guy on the bench would totally get the same treatment as a starting running back with NFL ability, right?
I’m glad to see Mixon has continued to represent Oklahoma so well off the field. The Sooners’ faith in him appears to be working out really well.
