Jay Cutler revealed on Thursday that he was “thrilled” with the results of the 2016 presidential election, and that he had been a supporter of Donald Trump “for a while.”

Cutler plays for the Chicago Bears and his state voted for Hillary Clinton by a wide margin (55.4 percent to 39.4 percent for Trump). Meanwhile, Cook County (where Chicago is) gave Clinton 74.4 percent of the vote, while Trump received just 21.4 percent.

That said, Cutler is from Indiana, a state Trump dominated (57.2 percent to 37.9 percent). And football players certainly don’t have to have the same political beliefs as the cities they play in. That would be a ridiculous standard. Yes, a few Bears fans probably won’t be fans of his stance politically, but they can’t expect his views to align with theirs in every way.

No doubt Cutler used the boundless enthusiasm he’s known for to help propel Trump to victory. Luckily we have some exclusive photos from Cutler on election night.

Here’s Jay just after Florida was called for Trump, giving him a big win and pocketing 29 electoral votes:

When Trump pulled off a win in North Carolina — a contentious swing state — Cutler was clearly thrilled:

When Wisconsin shockingly swung towards Trump, Cutler was beside himself with joy:

And finally, as he listened on the radio, the Associated Press gave Trump a win in Pennsylvania and projected him as the 45th president of the United States. Cutler exploded in raucous celebration:
