Michigan QB Wilton Speight Out For Regular Season With Broken Collarbone Per Report

Michigan was vague on the status of starting QB Wilton Speight for Indiana labeling him a “game-time decision.” MGoBlog is reporting Speight suffered a broken collarbone against Iowa and will miss at least Michigan’s final two remaining regular season games against Indiana and Ohio State.
Redshirt junior QB John O’Korn will be Speight’s presumed replacement. O’Korn threw for 3,117 yards and 28 touchdowns for Houston as a freshman before losing the starting job and transferring to Michigan. He was battling with Speight to start for the Wolverines preseason.
O’Korn offers more mobility than Speight and could provide Michigan the chance to use the quarterback in the running game. Though, his proficiency in Michigan’s passing game in competitive situations is an unknown.
Obviously, this isn’t the best news for Michigan heading into a potential showdown at Ohio State with the playoff on the line. They still have a decent opponent to face this weekend to get there.
