Jared Goff Will Finally Make His First Start for the Rams

Jared Goff has been riding the bench this season as the Rams have trotted out Case Keenum, who’s averaging 6.93 yards per attempt and has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns. The Rams, who beat the Jets 9-6 this past Sunday after dropping four games in a row, are 4-5 and on the outer boundary of reasonable NFC Wild Card hopes.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher has nonetheless remained steadfast in public support for Keenum, and said as recently as last week that the no. 1 overall pick wouldn’t start until the team is out of playoff contention. This all makes this Mort Report eyebrow-raising:

This news makes you wonder if Jeff Fisher does not have as safe a job as we thought earlier in the year when reports were that an extension was imminent. Was this dictated from above? Or has Fisher been playing possum?

It will be worth monitoring to see how Goff performs.
