Tom Herman Taking Texas Longhorns Job

Texas will hire Houston coach Tom Herman, according to multiple reports. The news comes quick on the heels of Charlie Strong’s firing after three consecutive losing seasons. A formal announcement is expected Saturday afternoon.

Herman was reportedly close to getting the LSU job and negotiations between the two parties leaked on Thursday. LSU may have pulled the offer after Herman backed out. The Tigers will take the interim tag off of Ed Orgeron.

In two years at Houston, Herman led the Cougars to a 22-4 record and has been the hottest name on the coaching carousel the past few years.
