Jay Glazer: The Steelers Might Be Caught Up in a Deflategate Sequel [UPDATE]

On Fox’s NFL pregame today, Jay Glazer reported that the Giants were suspicious of the footballs the Steelers were using in last Sunday’s game. Apparently, the Giants tested two of Pittsburgh’s footballs themselves — they supposedly measured low –and then sent them into the league for further examination.

We don’t yet know the specifics of where these footballs tested in with the Giants, but that alone wouldn’t seem scientifically relevant — they are, after all, competitors — unless there is more evidence against the Steelers.

One random angle that could be something or could be nothing is that the Giants and Steelers are owned by the Mara and Rooney families, who are both longtime presences in the league. An old guard dispute could be interesting.

And now we wait to find out the extent to which we’ll be bombarded by the Ballghazi sequel.
