Lamar Jackson won the 2016 Heisman Trophy, racking up six times the votes of every player in the country except Deshaun Watson. He is a favorite to recapture the award in 2017 before embarking on an NFL career. In short, his future is bright.
Life, however, doesn’t always go according to plan. Just a few short years ago we were saying the same type of things about Johnny Manziel, whose potential was never realized thanks to a litany of self-inflicted missteps.
The former Texas A&M star quarterback was on hand to see Jackson win the Heisman in New York City on Saturday night and later posted a photo with the winner and bauble on Instagram. He also multi-tasked by using the trophy to do bicep curls.
People were concerned by the development but it certainly appeared to be good, clean fun.
