Cody Rhodes left WWE this past May, and has been wrestling all over the indie circuit both domestically and abroad ever since. In this match against JT Dunn at Pro Wrestling Magic in Ridgefield Park, NJ on Sunday, he bounced off the ropes in an attempt to kick Dunn, who dodged the move.
Rhodes wound up kicking his wife, Brandi, who was a ring announcer for WWE and left the company in solidarity, square in the face. After Rhodes and Dunn double-clotheslined each other, the wrestler Joey Ryan, who is famous for a spot involving his magical anatomy, jumped in the ring and kidnapped Brandi.
It is almost certain that this was a planned spot in the match, and Brandi has shared the video on her social media accounts. To reiterate, within the confines of the story this was an accident, but it was presumably scripted beforehand. Nevertheless, it looked quite painful!
