Richard Sherman Deletes Tweet Defending Cheap Shot on Davante Adams

The above Vine of Richard Sherman running over Davante Adams in Sunday’s game between the Packers and Seahawks was shared this morning by Aaron Nagler, a multimedia staffer for the USA Today Network’s Packersnews.com. Former Packers tight end Jermichael Finley replied, Richard Sherman issued a rebuttal, Nagler presented a contextual rebuttal from the all-22 angle, and Sherman quickly deleted his tweet.

But, as we all know, a tweet can live forever in a screengrab, which was shared by Twitter user Jeremy Thiel:

In disclosure, I’m a Packers fan. Giving Sherman the benefit of the doubt, he doesn’t have eyes in the back of his head, and maybe anticipated a scramble drill where one didn’t materialize. Or maybe it was a total cheapshot. Who the hell knows? In any event, the optics don’t look good.
