Fan Makes Half Court Shot at Utah Utes Game, Bank Refuses to Pay $5,000 Prize Because He's 17 [UPDATE]
Utah beat Eastern Washington on Friday night in Salt Lake City, 85-69. At halftime a fan took a shot from halfcourt for $5,000. He made the shot, but now he says the bank won’t pay because he is only 17-years old.
Why was he allowed to not only enter the contest, but be chosen if he wasn’t eligible? This is a question the bank and the school will have to answer and hopefully they can do right by this kid. And I’m not just talking about a free checking account.
UPDATE: Not only did Utah make things right, but the kid is donating half the money to charity.
