Geno Smith made his first start for the New York Giants on Sunday and was very … Geno Smith-like. He threw for 212 yards and a touchdown while completing 21 of 34 passes and fumbling twice.
Despite a barely average game in a 24-17 loss to the Oakland Raiders, Smith was clearly feeling himself after the game, because he went after his former head coach in the post-game press conference.
Yes, Geno decided to go all-in on ex-New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan after Sunday’s loss, going so far as to call Ryan a coward.
Geno Smith on Rex Ryan: “I did see one of my ex-coaches say he didn’t want me to be his quarterback. That really upset me. Guy that we saved his job in 2013. We fought our ass off for him, both years. For him to come out and say that shows how much of a coward he is."

Honestly, good for Geno. He may never get the chance to be in front of a microphone again, so he might as well go out with a bang by ripping his old head coach. Shoot your shot, man.
