Jimmy Butler led the NBA in minutes in Tom Thibodeau’s final two seasons in Chicago with 38.7 minutes per game. After Thibodeau was fired Butler’s minutes dropped under Fred Hoiberg, but he remained in the top-5. Now he’s back with Thibs in Minnesota and well…

Butler had a pretty easy November, playing just 35.5 minutes a game, but he has played 40+ minutes in each of the Timberwolves’ four games in December. He and Andrew Wiggins are tied for 5th in the league with 36.9 minutes a game.

Minnesota is 15-11 and in 4th place in the Western Conference. So now the race has officially begun. The race between Thibs taking his team deep into the playoffs and his players getting burnt out. The only thing we know for certain is that Thibs won’t be burning Karl-Anthony Towns out with too many touches.
