Funny Guy Charlie Hall Scores First Point, Thinks He's Wilt Chamberlain
By Kyle Koster
Wilt Chamberlain famously celebrated his 100-point game by holding up a rudimentary sign with the tally. That was in 1962 when men were men. Nowadays everyone gets a trophy and coaches take teams for ice cream even after the most lopsided defeat.
Take Charlie Hall, a sophomore guard for Northwestern and son of Julia Louis-Dreyfus. He’s very proud of his first career point, notched last night against Lewis University.
Chamberlain may have scored 99 more points in his breakout game, but Hall used a larger font to write his number. Tough to tell which is more impressive.
I will say this for the junior walk-on: it was a savvy move to pose shirtless. Could help him in the pursuit of another notable Chamberlain record.
