VIDEO: Ryen Russillo Provides Reasons Why He's Leaving ESPN

Ryen Russillo announced earlier today that he would be leaving ESPN Radio at the end of the week, and ESPN in general at the end of his contract in 2018. At the open of his show, he explained that he was leaving due to a combination of not feeling that he was still growing, and out of a desire to try writing scripted television in Los Angeles.

Russillo noted that a couple years ago, he had an experience trying to pitch a pilot to networks, but that it fell through after his writing partner handled it in a way that he disagreed with, and ultimately blew Russillo off. It will be pretty cool if Russillo can find success with this pursuit, and even if he doesn’t there will always be roles in some capacity that are available to him in sports media.
